We just switched from Poland to Russia after waiting 13 months for a referral. Seems Poland has slowed down for children under 3. Good Luck in whatever you choose to do!
yep i have heard that about poland.. it's not looking good for people with all of their paperwork in. some agencies are lying about it though..saying there are plenty of children available and that is not the case
March 2010- Decide on Poland and sign agreement with Agency, start collecting documents and start Adoption Education Classes.
April 2010- Obtain FBI/DOJ live scan fingerprints.
Two meetings with Social Worker to start Home Studay
May 2010 - All NON CA documents sent out to be Apostilled and returned.
Homestudy being reviewed.
June 2010 - Not much happening
July 2010 - All clearances notarized and sent to us and Home Study approved, notarized and completed! Sending all CA documents out to be Apostilled. Sending out I-800 to CIS.
August 3, 2010 - Paperwork sent out to US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
August 16, 2010 - CA documents sent to Secretary of State in Sacramento to be Apostilled.
August 23rd, 2010 - Received back all but 2 CA documents from Secretary of State in CA and Apostilled.
September 7th, 2010 - Send final 2 documents to Secretary of State of CA to be Apostilled.
September 8th, 2010 - Both of us fingerprinted for the second time required by US. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
September 13, 2010 - I-797, Notice of Action paperwork from USCIS received - I-797 is the approval to adopt one child from Poland.
October 2010 - Fired our crappy agency, looking for a new one.
Lots of similar decisions lately. Best wishes.
